Stomp In The Swamp this weekend

    The Everglades is calling.

Miata enthusiasts know the Everglades Seafood Festival in February — a riot of music, big crowds and great seafood specialties in a fairground atmosphere at Everglades City.

This weekend, we’re back to Everglades City for the annual Serge’s Stomp In The Swamp jamboree event at Tastes Of The Everglades, starting at noon Saturday. https://www.facebook.com/SergeStomp/

There is plenty of indoor seating, plus an equally giant outdoor deck and tiki bar overlooking the water and mangroves in the Ten Thousand Islands region. Continuing the tradition of mayhem and fellowship, featuring a full lineup of live music from Pete Gallagher and the Outlaws of Florida Folk and other close friends.

Plan your road trip to arrive before noon to avoid traffic.

Easy Route to Rod and Gun Club

For those attending the annual Everglades Seafood Festival in Everglades City Saturday morning, we’re going to attempt to park together in front of — or near — the Everglades Rod and Gun Club property.

When you reach Everglades City, take a right on Begonia Street to avoid the traffic congestion on Collier Avenue. This will take you to the west side of the town, then south to the Rod and Gun Club. The map shows the best route.

The diagonal Begonia Street becomes Copeland Avenue. You’ll find Storter Avenue just west of Copeland Avenue. Take it south to the Rod and Gun Club, which will be on your right.

Don’t park inside the Rod and Gun Club parking lot, but rather just outside the property on the side of the street.
