South Florida Miata Club - Road ripFlorida’s original Sun & Surf Winery’s first annual SURF MUSIC FEST is taking things to the next level! First, of course there has to be great surf music that will represent the genres journey from it’s inception to now. So to start the day off, Ft. Lauderdale’s acclaimed Six Foot Swell Surf Band are the first to paddle into the lineup at 11am with the music that started it all: Surf Instrumental – in the spirit of Dick Dale, The Surfaris, The Ventures, and all the other early 60’s surf instro bands. At 1:15pm the Surf & Drag Guys Band will take festival goers on a trip through surf music’s second great phase with the tunes by the likes of The Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, The Kingsmen and more from Surf Music’s Golden Age. At 3pm, Orlando’s own, the Alex Baugh Band will take off with their contemporary easy going and laid back surf/reggae set for all to enjoy.

You can’t think of surfing without thinking of where it all started; Southern California, or So Cal as it is affectionately called. And you can’t think of So Cal without thinking of classic cars, especially the rides that got you to the beach. So there will be a car show of all vehicles that carried you and your board to catch some waves and rays, like Dune Buggys, Vans, VW’s, Woody’s, Jeeps, convertibles, etc…  sponsored by Atlas Continental Auto Detailing Products.  There will also be a vintage/classic Surf Board show, sponsored by Spunky’s Surf Shop, a “core” surf shop catering to everything a surfer needs. A popular vote contest will determine winners for both shows. Also in the spirit of So Cal, primarily the tradition of the Wind-N-Sea Surf Club’s annual Luau that honors a surfing legend each year, we will be inviting East Coast Surf Legends as special guests for the day. Now all that left to have is an Art Show. Ok, there will also be an Art Show too! With several local artists setting up their wares for all to browse.

Last but not least, all surfers need some good grub! So great eats for the day will be provided by Polito Catering AND Good Eats and Sweet Treats Food Trailer.

Early Advance Admission Tickets are only $8 through July 1st, $10 until Sept 1st,  then $12 until September 23rd. Day of admission at the gate is $15. Car show registration is $17 advance and $22 day of, for driver and car, and includes Surf Music Fest admission for the driver. Any passengers would need to get a Surf Music Fest admission pass. Surf board show registration is only $5 for up to 5 boards, and $8 for day of, and does not include the Surf Music Fest pass. Surfboard show entrants will need to purchase that separately. So get yours now and save.
