Gold Coast Railroad Museum

Gold Coast Railroad Museum On Sunday, February 10th we’ll visit the Gold Coast Railroad Museum next to ZooMiami and the Miami Military Museum at 11am. This retired Richmond Naval Base location was used to house the blimps that scouted for submarines off the Florida coast during World War II.

Railroads were the single most import infrastructure component in the early development of Florida during the late 19th and early 20th century. They represent the golden era of long distance travel a century ago.

The museum is home to more than 40 historic railcars, including the “Ferdinand Magellan” Presidential Railcar, better known as U.S. Car No. 1. The museum also houses a model train room and numerous interactive displays.

This is another item to check off the bucket list for South Florida attractions. Put your engineer hat on and chug on down.

Meet at the 84 Diner at 10am at 11432 W State Rd 84 in Davie (Plaza at Davie).

RSVP are closed for this event.
