Two Questions: mechanic and hard dog roll bar

Hello guys, thanks for the add! Finally, deposit down on a 2003, paying in full today…

    Two questions

    1. Any reputable mechanics in the South Miami area that one can recommend to work/are familiar with the Miata? No need now but just to have in the books for when I can’t tackle an issue.

    2. Looking to install a hard dog roll bar… eventually I want a hard top but I was wondering if with the hard top hard dog will one still be able to close the soft top? Or is the hard top roll bar strictly for hard top and soft top strictly for soft top?

The Hardtop versions are a little lower and just a bit further back. No issues with soft top. Just a little smaller to fit Hardtop.

For a good independent shop, Mazdapros in Hollywood seems to be well-regarded among Mazda owners. A family-owned business. I have not used them for service because I have used dealer service to date, but I have met the family at one of their cruise-in events and they are nice people and Mazda enthusiasts. The patriarch, Edgar Carranza, seems to know his stuff.

For good dealer service at fair prices, Lou Bachrodt Mazda in Coconut Creek. I hate to recommend Lou Bachrodt because the new sales managers there are terrible to deal with, but that’s sales. On the service side, I have nothing but nice things to say about the manager, Mike Kubic.

Thanks guys for info I called Mazda Pros and taking her there on Monday for a once over and some stainless steel braided lines. Then she is off to her new home in South Miami where I hope to do a couple of track days, some Autocross, a few meets and just enjoy the weather with the top down on the weekends…

You can close the soft top and then install the hard top. That’s how I had mine until my son needed a soft top. I gave him my soft top, and now my 99 is a dedicated coupe. I don’t know any dedicated Miata mechanics I would personally recommend, but not much goes wrong with Miatas. I do all my own work on my two older models. The 16 is still under warranty and it runs perfectly.

    Welcome New Members

Over the past few months we have had many new members join our wonderful club. Many of you are first time Miata owners and have many questions about your cars. There is a web site that is a great tool for Miata owners both new and old.

    It is MIATA.NET

There are thousands of enthusiasts world wide who frequent this site giving their insight into this great little roadster. They are eager to help in answering other owners questions and putting forth new ideas as to how we can upgrade our little cars to make them our very own. Many of us use the sight daily. It is a great tool for all Miata owners.

Welcome again to everyone who has joined us on our Zoom-Zoom journey and the love for our Miatas.

    March monthly meeting

It was great to welcome new members to our club for the March, 2017 meeting at The Field, and great to welcome our guests from Tampa.

It was fun viewing the variety of our cars in the parking lot, seeing and hearing all the fun things members have done to their cars.

We had three new MX-5 RFs. What a treat to see this new retractable fastback model in three different colors. Hearing and seeing the super-charger in Bart’s car was wonderful. What a neat job.
