Redland Riot Road Rallye set for Saturday, Jan 20

Redland Riot Road RallyePut the top down, bring some cash and head out to the Redland farming region on Saturday, January 20th for the annual Redland Riot Road Rally.

Initiated by Robert Burr in 1992, the whimsical Redland Riot Road Rallye is described as a fruity tropical history tour of South Florida’s Redland farming region.

It’s a time-honored, delightful diversion for the whole family, held on the third Saturday in January.

A trip to the countryside searching for goodies brings Redland Rioters to a number of wonderful locations that represent the off-the-beaten-history-path of South Florida.

Families and friends participate as teams in their cars, gathering at Cauley Square at 10am. Each registered team ($10 team admission) receives a map and driving directions, along with some cryptic questions to answer along the way. It’s a type of scavenger hunt for clues, while discovering all these unique places in Miami’s bountiful countryside.

Along the way, there are plenty of goodies to enjoy while learning a bit about local history. After Cauley Square, teams visit Burr’s Berry Farm, Redland Ranch, Phil’s Berry Farm, Knaus Berry Farm, Redland Country Market, Fruit & Spice Park, R.F. Orchids, Curbside Market, Hotel Redland, Florida Pioneer Museum and Robert Is Here fruit stand. The road rally ends at Schnebly Redland’s Winery and Brewery at 5pm.

The winning team with the most correct answers wins a prize package worth less than one million dollars!
