It was such a fun day. Looking forward to next years parade already. To see all the smiling faces along the parade route really gets you in the holiday spirit. Hopefully we’ll have more members join in next year to experience this wonderful day!

    P0300 Multiple Misfire Detected

Anyone know a local, reliable mechanic/shop that can troubleshoot and repair my Miata?

It’s a 2002 base model with about 110,000 miles. Every now and then she’s been losing power for 2-3 seconds and the check-engine light comes on. I got the code read from Advance Auto – P0300. About all I can do myself is replace plugs, wires, and coil packs. If y’all don’t think that’s it, I’d rather take it to a professional.

    Thanks everyone, and Happy Thanksgiving.

Mazda Pros in Hollywood. Haven’t used them myself but have heard a lot of good reviews on them. http://www.mazdapros.com/

Sounds very familiar. In my case (2004 Miata Mazdaspeed), It turned out to be a flaky coil pack. Took me a while to figure it out (and Ryan’s help). Problem was the condition got worse when the other coil back went out while I was trying to figure it out. The second had more severe symptoms for its failure. They are simple to change and not too expensive. A few auto parts stores even stock them and some have lifetime warranties.

I recently used them for a competitive aligned (to Flying Miata specs) on my ND; note it came from the factory with the rear way out of alignment. Very reasonably priced at $65. I second using them, but be forewarned, the place when you get there isn’t very appealing to look at. I almost left because I thought this could not be a “Pro” shop (and I am being kind), but they do work on Miata and RX-8 and RX-7, pretty much all Mazda cars. I believe they have a forum and a club following. Upon speaking with them, they appear to know what they are doing even though the place could use polishing. Perhaps that is why the price is more reasonable than the dealer.

You may want to call to make an appointment as there is very limited space to park on the street and 441 is under construction.

Thanks everyone. I ordered the two coil packs, new plugs, and NGK wires. After that, it’s to Mazda Pros if that doesn’t cure it.

Thanks everyone for your advice. New plugs, coil packs, and wires totally cured her. As an added benefit, she runs like new and gets better gas mileage. Wow! She’s like a new car!

Sorry that we missed the thanksgiving feast mistakenly…

Sorry that we missed the thanksgiving feast, mistakenly had it on my calendar for 5:00 instead of two. We were there at 5:00 with socks and stuff for the homeless. We will be out of town from 11/26 until December 10th. Please contact Joan at 954-646-5656 to see if she can drop off the stuff before Thanksgiving weekend.

Sorry we missed you. It was a good time, good food, a real good deal on the price.
