Anyone considering buying a new 2016 ND now…

Anyone considering buying a new 2016 ND, now is the time. From the latest Cars.com and Autotrader web sites, Mazda currently has over 3000 cars which is 1/3 of the year’s total production of the new Miatas still sitting on dealers lots and the new 2017’s are being held at U.S. ports till inventories come down. Our sponsor, Greico, has 44 sitting in their inventory. Happy shopping to those looking for a great deal!

I am waiting for the RF too. From what I’m hearing, they are due to arrive in March, just in time to buy myself a great birthday present!

Thanks to the friendly top-down Miata couple who told me about this club at a traffic light today. Glad you were safe getting through that intersection. What do I do next? I want to hang out with other Miata lovers.

    Miata windshields

On the way to the last monthly meeting I took a rock dead center of my windshield. Wow!!!

Over the next few days I saw it spread. I shopped around and found out that Safelite was the best deal.

The cost if you go to one of their facilities is $25.00 cheaper. I had them come to my house and they changed it right in the driveway. I had a Certified Technician Tin Posada-Torres who lived up to his title. He did great job. Total coast was around $260.00.

I am very satisfied and would recommend them.

You don’t have full coverage? If so, the state pays for the windshield.

I have coverage. The insurance I have is for a second car.It is very reasonable half of what the normal coverage is. I do not want to take advantage of them.

Unless they’ve changed the laws, what Karl says is correct. I had a windshield replaced some years ago at no cost through State Farm.

Plan for the Junior Orange Bowl Parade Nov 27

The annual Junior Orange Bowl children's parade in Coral Gables will be November 27Here’s a chance for Miata owners to show off their cars together. The annual Junior Orange Bowl Parade in Coral Gables features a long line of community groups participating in this venerable children’s event after Thanksgiving. We’ll dress up the cars with holiday decorations and help bring smiles to the thousands of kids and families along the short route. Afterwards, we’ll meet for a bite and refreshments nearby.

We’re signing up to participate with a number of Miatas on parade. We need owners to commit soon so we can send in the application with details of how many of our Miatas will participate.

Here’s a link to the event page.

Miata Owners: you must coordinate your participation in the parade now with Lou Marett: loumarett@gmail.com

Club Roadster: How I modified my Miata

An interesting posting at Club Roadster…

“I came about my gearhead status a little later than some do. Not quite sure what caused it. I did help my dad work on cars when I was younger, but that was mostly of the routine maintenance variety of repair. While I was in college I became more interested in motorcycles, I was never allowed to have my own but could ride my grandfather’s on the back country roads (without a license no less) when I visited them. Then my senior year, Mazda came out with the RX-7…”

The Hillsboro Lighthouse Road Trip and Tour

Our Miata Family enjoyed a delightful road trip adventure to the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse recently. The property is only accessible once a month by boat. We climbed to the top to enjoy the views. We met with local historians and preservationists who gave us educational and entertaining presentation. We relaxed, enjoyed the breeze and the good company, before returning to the resort on the boat through the inter-coastal channel.
